My name is Mrs Watson and I have the great pleasure of teaching Year Two. I am looking forward to an exciting year of learning with the children supported by Mr Jones. Mrs Gleave will also be teaching Year Two every Friday.
On this page you will find lots of important information and photographs of the exciting things that we will get up to in class. It will also be updated regularly with class news and links to websites that you may find helpful to support your child's learning.
The Knowledge Organisers which can be found on a seperate tab on our Year Two class page, will give you an idea about what your child will be learning in each subject. This provides a great opportunity to have a discussion with your child about what they are learning.

School day
Magic Breakfast will be available for the children from 08:35 when our door opens.
Registration will then take place at 08:45.
School ends at 15:15 and the children should be collected from the Lower Key Stage 2 door.
The children are encouraged to bring a water bottle in daily. We provide fruit for the children as a snack.
PE
Year Two will have P.E every Tuesday and Friday. Children should come to school in the correct PE uniform. Plain white t-shirt/polo, plain black leggings, joggers or shorts, plain black jacket/school jumper (no logos on PE uniform). Children must also take their earrings out to participate in the lesson. If your child is unable to remove their earrings themselves, please ensure this is done before the start of school.
Phonics
For phonics we will be continuing to follow the Little Wandle scheme. You can access free parent support via the Little Wandle website if you wish to do so and we will also be happy to offer any additional support you may need in order to aid your child’s development throughout Year 2
Spellings
Year Two spellings will be sent home on a Monday. Please practice these spellings with your child at least three times a week ready for their test the following Monday.
Maths
We are currently reviewing KS1 Maths homework and will update in due course
Reading
Reading books will be changed every Friday. Children will also be provided with a bedtime book of their choice for you to share together. These will also be changed regularly on your child's library day. Children should bring their reading book and reading record into school every day.
