RSHE

At St. Bridget’s Catholic Primary School our approach to RSHE is rooted in the Catholic Church’s teachings; our aim is to educate the whole child spiritually, intellectually, morally, emotionally and physically towards maturity and adulthood.

Working in partnership with family, professional agencies, community, organisations and our governors, we aim to support all children in reaching their full potential, growing in self-esteem, the love of God and each other.

Pupils have the opportunity in Come and See to explore and share their knowledge in whole class lessons, group work, paired work, circle time, role play and drama.  It is also delivered in the daily life of the school, assembly time and as part of visits from the school nurse, parents and other community links.

In addition children in Year 5 and Year 6 follow the “All That I Am” programme, which is an age appropriate programme of study specifically designed to meet the needs of Year 5 and 6 children.

Due to the statutory nature of RSHE our aims and methods are outlined in more detail in our school policy and parent booklet below. Additionally, a parents' meeting was held at the beginning of the Spring term and further information can be found from the meeting below.
