Summer Learning Journey
Geography skills - Look at that progress.
The children were asked to work with their learning partner to create the UK. Children completed their images using playdough before looking at an atlas. They then recreated the maps after using an atlas and discussing and describing the different countries, using grid references and lots of geographical vocabulary! Look at that progress!
How do we explain how a volcano works? Act it out of course
Classical music and stories making inspirational writing
We used classical music from Wagner to help us imagine what it would be like for the little boy to find the black hat. The use of drama helped us engage with the character in a meaningful way, we used our experience and the use of emotive music to create an exciting scene in our narrative.
Design Technology
Learning about levers and pulleys, testing for waterproof material and understanding the need for renewable energy sources, such as wind turbines, to create wind powered water lifts to help a village with no water!
Expanding our vocabulary
Snowball fight to create a bank of synonyms for "said" to use in our writing
