Welcome to year 6

Age related expectations Year 6

Long Term Plan Year 6

Remote Learning: We are using Google Classroom to deliver remote learning including homework. Your child has their own login for this. Please help your child access the site, guidance can be found in the video below.

Children will be expected to practise their times tables and spellings each week as well as reading at least 3 times. In addition to this, as the SATs approach, year 6 children may receive additional homework to help them prepare.

Please ensure your child reads regularly (at least 3 times a week). That may be a school book, a book from home, activities on reading plus or any other forms or reading they enjoy such.

Times tables

Please use TT Rockstars to practise times tables. By year 6 all children should know all times tables fluently. Children will complete a times tables test each Friday.

10 spellings will be sent home on Monday linked to the y5-6 spelling list. These should be practised for testing on Friday.

PE lesson will be from 2-3 on Tuesdays.

Forest Schools will be from 2-3 on Fridays.

Children may come to school and stay in their PE kit on those days. Children will be outside regardless of weather so please ensure they have sufficiently warm and waterproof clothing.
