Welcome to Year 3's class page!

My name is Miss Woodward and I have the pleasure of teaching Year 3 again this year. I am looking forwards to beginning our learning journey together alongside the support of Mrs Matthews. Mrs Williamson will also teach Year 3 on a Tuesday morning. Please visit our class page for important information and to see all the fun and exciting learning we will take part in this year.

If you have any questions or queries then please do not hesitate to contact me by email (sophie.woodward@stbridgetscps.co.uk) or I am always available at the end of the school day. I look forward to working in partnership with you to help your child achieve their best.

Important Information for Year 3

School Day: Magic Breakfast is served at 8:45am.  Registration takes place at 8:55am. At the end of the day, Year 3 will be dismissed at 3pm and exit through the Year 3 door.

P.E: During Summer term, Year 3 will have PE on Mondays and Fridays. Your child should come to school dressed in their P.E kits on these days. Children may wear jogging bottoms or leggings and a tracksuit top. These must be plain black or navy.

Reading: Please support your child to develop their reading skills by hearing your child read at least three times a week. Talk about their book and ask questions to develop their understanding. Please ensure you write a comment on the GoRead app each time you hear your child read in order for your child to be entered into our weekly Reading Raffle.

Spellings: Spellings will be sent home fortnightly on a Monday and should be practiced regularly at home. Children will be tested on these on a Monday in our Year 3 spelling progress check. Your child's spellings will be linked to the spellings that they have learnt in previous weeks.

Times Tables: Each child has their own login to Times Tables Rockstars which allows them to practice their basic multiplication and divison skills. Please access the website at least 3 times per week. The children have a times tables test every Friday.

Water Bottles and Snacks: Children are allowed to bring a water bottle into school with them. This must be clearly labelled with their name and will be sent home from school with them at the end of every day. Children are also allowed to bring in a healthy snack for break time.

Remote Learning

We are using Google Classroom to deliver remote learning  including homework. Your child has their own login for this. Please help your child access the site, guidance can be found in the video below.
