Oceans and Continents

Year Two develop their mapping skills this week by locating the seven continents and five oceans of our world. We even used an extra large world map to help support our learning.

FOREST SCHOOL

After learning about the different types of leaves and which trees they belong to in Forest School, we decided to create leaf rubbings with pastels. This was a really effective way of looking closely at the different leaf shapes and patterns. 

EUROPEAN DAY OF LANGUAGES 2021

Year Two celebrating European Day of Languages by having a French Day! The children came in dressed in French themed costumes and clothing. We carried out lots of French themed activites such as French food tasting, learning how to have a conversation in French and learning the colours in French. We had so much fun!

DESIGN TECHNOLOGY HOME LEARNING PROJECT

Year Two have been learning all about healthy eating as part of our Science topic. We decided to design delicious fruit salads that could be made at home. Take a look at some children practicing their key skills of cutting, chopping and peeling in order to make their fruit salad design.

BUBBLE WRAP PRINTING

This half term, Year Two have been developing their collage skills by practicing overlapping and tearing. In order to make our collages look more effective, Year Two were challenged to add printing to their design. We used bubble wrap to create different printing patterns including waves, straight lines, zig zags and swirls. Take a look at our creations...
