Welcome to Year Three!

Hello!

My name is Mrs Watson and I have the great pleasure of teaching Year 3 this year.

May I take a moment to introduce myself - I have been teaching for nearly 20 years and in that time I have taught many different ages from Early Years to adults. I am so excited to be staying at St Bridgets for another year as Deputy Head, SENCo and Year 3 teacher. I am sure the children and I will have a great time on our new learning journey supported by Mr Jones (Teaching Assistant).

I  promote an open door policy, any concerns, questions or worries please come and see me. I look forward to working in partnership with you, to help your child be the very best they can.

A Few Practicalities

PE - Every Monday, please ensure your child has the full named kit in school every day.

Reading - Children will be heard to read twice a week in school. They will change their home readers on a Monday, please aim to hear your child read at least 5 times a week and add a note in their reading records. I encourage the children to read for pleasure; they have a tray book of their own choice which can be read in ERIC (Everybody Reads in Class) time or during quiet moment during the day. I also aim to read to the children to encourage a love of books.

Homework - Spellings go home on Monday for test on Friday. Maths or English homework based on their learning that week will go home on Friday to be handed in on Wednesday (or before).
