School Council

When you start at St. Bridget's, your opinion, ideas, thoughts and values will be at the heart of everything we do. Having a School Council is one way that we can ensure your voice is heard and your ideas for the school are taken into account.

Our School Council has ten members consisting of two children from Years 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6. School Council members are voted for by their classmates in elections that are held at the beginning of every school year. They meet regularly with Mrs Dobson and Miss McRoy, and are very active in helping Mrs Dobson decide on aspects of school life that will affect the children. Before each meeting, the councillors will collect the thoughts and ideas of their classmates and bring them forward to the other council members. In the last few years they have helped to design the new playground features and markings by consulting the rest of the children in the school and inviting them to design their perfect playground, the 'St Bridget's Heart' that sits near our nature trail and the new infant toilets.
